Controversial $500m South West wind farm approved
Western Australia's Regional Development Assessment Panel approved Synergy's $500 million wind farm at Scott River on Thursday, unanimously backing the 20-turbine, 100-megawatt project despite 400 community objections. The 250-metre-high turbines will be built 300 kilometres south of Perth on a former titanium mine site. Synergy will now analyze commercial viability over a five-year development period.
