Zee Launches Unite8 Sports Channels, Eyes Soccer World Cup Rights for India
Zee Entertainment Enterprises launched Unite8 Sports, a four-channel linear sports portfolio, and confirmed discussions with FIFA over 2026 World Cup broadcast rights for India. The channels will carry soccer, cricket, kabaddi and combat sports in Hindi and English. FIFA reduced its asking price to approximately $60 million after initial negotiations stalled, with JioStar offering only $20 million.
