Motorists face wait to find out fix for Great Western Highway

Motorists will wait up to six weeks to learn how engineers will repair the Great Western Highway at Victoria Pass in Australia's Blue Mountains, closed since March 9. Two consortia led by Seymour Whyte and Gamuda are developing solutions for the 200-year-old convict-built causeway that developed serious cracking and ground movement. The 12,000 daily users face a 25-minute detour.
