These trees do more than honour the dead
Australia's commemorative trees, including new scarlet oaks in Officer, Victoria, provide a living link to service members who died during wartime. Since 1900, at least 1,679 memorials have been established nationwide, reflecting community memory and history. As Anzac Day approaches, these living memorials will host community services and wreath-laying ceremonies across the country.
