Two Sydney architects transformed neglected 1880s corner shops into mixed-use spaces combining housing and commercial areas. Catherine Downie's Camperdown project retained the brick facade while adding a three-bedroom home and street-level office behind the parapet. Neil Mackenzie's Marrickville site incorporated a corner shop, gallery, and residential units.
