Wettest May weather in decades as El Niño takes a rain check
Series of low-pressure systems drenched Australia's east this week, making May one of the wettest months on record for parts of the country. Dubbo, New South Wales recorded 86 millimetres in 48 hours, the wettest May two-day spell on record. The wet conditions come as eastern Australia faces drought concerns and the Pacific approaches El Niño conditions.
