Major chains under pressure as independent servos slash fuel prices

Independent service stations have reduced unleaded petrol prices to as low as $1.90 a litre, following a 15 percent drop in global oil prices after a ceasefire in the Iran conflict. In Melbourne and Sydney, average petrol prices fell below $2.10 a litre for the first time since February 28, putting pressure on major retail chains to adjust prices downward.
