Matthew McConaughey protects voice and likeness with AI-focused trademarks approved
Matthew McConaughey filed eight U.S. trademarks in 2023 to protect his voice and likeness from AI misuse, including his iconic "Alright, alright, alright" catchphrase. The Patent and Trademark Office approved them in 2025. Taylor Swift followed suit in April, filing three voice and image trademarks as generative AI technology creates increasingly realistic deepfakes of celebrities.
