Developer cancels $1.5 billion Gold Coast Trump Tower citing toxic brand
The $1.5-billion Trump Tower planned for Australia's Gold Coast has been cancelled after just three months, with developer Altus Property Group citing Trump's "toxic brand" locally and geopolitical tensions. The 91-storey luxury resort would have included 272 apartments and a 285-room hotel on a vacant Surfers Paradise site. Altus says it will pursue alternative luxury brands for the project.
