Deep burial: Are your batteries really being recycled?
Australia's largest battery recycler, Ecocycle, is accused by former employees of dumping or burning millions of batteries instead of recycling them collected through the national B-Cycle scheme. The company controls 90 percent of Australia's battery collection market but the Battery Stewardship Council cannot verify what happened to 10,000 tonnes collected. Ecocycle denies wrongdoing.
