Neale Daniher dies; AFL figures mourn influential coach and MND campaigner
Neale Daniher, who died recently, profoundly influenced Chris Fagan and other AFL figures during his coaching and playing career. Fagan credited Daniher with believing in him as a coach, while Daniher's 1997-2007 Melbourne tenure reached the 2000 grand final. The Essendon halfback turned coach later became a national figure fighting motor neurone disease, named 2025 Australian.
