Age Book Awards name Giovannoni and Wild winners at Melbourne festival
The Age Book of the Year Awards named Moreno Giovannoni's "The Immigrants" fiction winner and Kate Wild's "The Red House" non-fiction winner Thursday at the Melbourne Writers Festival. Giovannoni's novel explores Italian migration to 1950s Australia, while Wild's investigates the fatal 2019 shooting of Indigenous man Kumanjayi Walker by police. Each author received $10,000 from the Copyright Agency's Cultural.
