Power bills set to fall despite Iran uncertainty

The Australian Energy Regulator cut maximum electricity rates from July 1, with reductions up to 5 percent in New South Wales and 7 percent in southeast Queensland. Clare Savage, the regulator's chair, attributed the cuts to falling wholesale costs driven by record renewable energy contributions. The reductions mark the steepest cuts since 2022.
