Deep burial: Are your batteries really being recycled?
Australia's largest battery recycler, Ecocycle, faces accusations from former employees of dumping millions of batteries instead of recycling them through the national B-Cycle scheme. The Battery Stewardship Council cannot verify the fate of 10,000 tonnes collected and has launched an investigation. Ecocycle controls 90 percent of Australia's battery collection market but denies wrongdoing.
