'Remarkable' large funnel cloud spotted in regional Victoria
A rare funnel cloud appeared near Avoca in regional Victoria on Wednesday, spotted by property owners near Mount Hooghly, 150 kilometres north-west of Melbourne. The distinctive column lasted four to five minutes before dissipating. Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jonathan How called the photos "remarkable," noting such formations are typically rare in the area and usually occur during cold fronts.
