Red Metal rare earths play rides tailwind from Aus-Japan alliance

Red Metal Limited is developing a low-cost rare earths processing pathway for its Sybella project near Mount Isa, Queensland, as Australia and Japan elevate critical minerals cooperation. The 4.8 billion tonne deposit contains rare earth fluorocarbonate minerals, with ion exchange trials showing nine-fold enrichment and 99 percent recovery rates. Column leach testing results are expected in early 2026.
