This generation now owns almost a third of all rental properties
New data shows Australians aged 60 and over now own 27.5% of the nation’s 2.3 million rental properties, an increase in dominance within the landlord demographic. In contrast, those under 30 account for just 4.3% of rental holdings. The rise in negative gearing has led to record tax losses of $16.1 billion among landlords.
