Vandals cut down road signs in protest against lower speed limit
Vandals in Victoria's Gippsland region sawed off and painted over road signs Tuesday in protest against reduced speed limits on country roads. Speed restrictions on Hazelwood Road and Boldings Road dropped from 100km/h to 80km/h in April. Police are investigating the vandalism while two community petitions calling for higher limits have gained hundreds of signatures from frustrated motorists.
