Victorian school students and universities caught up in global cyber hack
Victorian schools and universities were caught in a global cyber hack targeting Canvas, an educational platform used by 9,000 institutions worldwide. Hackers calling themselves ShinyHunters accessed names, email addresses, student IDs and teacher-student messages, demanding an undisclosed ransom from Canvas parent company Instructure. The University of Melbourne, RMIT University and Melbourne Grammar confirmed involvement Thursday.
