Diphtheria outbreak reaches WA’s prisons
Two inmates at West Kimberley Regional Prison in Western Australia have tested positive for diphtheria, health authorities confirmed. The cases were not contracted at the prison and both inmates were isolated before returning negative results. A Department of Justice vaccination team is traveling through outbreak-affected regions as 92 cases have been notified across WA since the year's start.
