Privacy policy

Last updated: 2025-02-07

1. Introduction

Glance ("we", "our") is an Australian news aggregation app. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the Glance app and related services.

2. Information we collect

We may collect or process:

  • Device push token – If you enable notifications, we store an Expo push token so we can send you breaking-news alerts. This is stored on our servers only for that purpose.
  • Saved articles – If you use the save feature, article links are stored locally on your device. We do not store your saved list on our servers unless we explicitly add that feature and disclose it.
  • Usage – Our backend may log requests (e.g. IP, time) for operational and security purposes. We do not sell this data.

3. How we use information

We use push tokens only to send you notifications you have opted into. We use logs to run and secure the service. We do not use your data for advertising or to build profiles about you.

4. Third parties

News content is aggregated from third-party publishers (see Our sources). When you open an article, you may go to that publisher's website, which has its own privacy policy. We use Expo (push) and hosting providers to operate the service; they process data under their own policies.

5. Your rights

You can turn off notifications in your device settings, which stops us from sending pushes. If we hold other personal data and you are in a jurisdiction that grants access or deletion rights, contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.

6. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

7. Contact

For privacy-related questions, contact us through the channels provided in the Glance app or on this website.
